Apple Reveals Plan To Unveil Coding In Chicago Public Schools

It was last Tuesday that Apple revealed that Chicago had plans underway to incorporate its coding program into schools and city colleges. If everything goes according to plan, most of the schools and city colleges might soon start teaching the Students-sanctioned coursework related to Apple’s homegrown Swift programming language.
It was back in 2014 when Apple’s Swift coding language was introduced. Since then it has pitched as the best mechanism for developers to come up with apps for Apple products such as iPads, iPhones, and Mac computers. Apple currently refers to its education program as “Everyone Can Code.”
Apple has outlined that it sought input from local school and city college officials as well as the Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel about the project. It is a project that is expected to reach about 500,000 students.
Apple CEO Tim Cook opined, “We’re thrilled to be working with our friends and partners in the great city of Chicago on this initiative. Together with Mayor Emanuel, Chicago Public Schools and City Colleges, we look forward to helping students learn Swift and build the skills they need to thrive in today’s workplace.”
A number of the Chicago public schools will soon start debuting Swift Coding Clubs. These are after-school programs which are aimed at teaching children the basic of the coding language. On the other hand, the Chicago-based community colleges are expected to start offering more sophisticated classes regarding Swift coding language and app development.
In today’s economy, coding isn’t just a critical skill. It is a crucial outlet for the various students to get to explore their creativity as well as expand their horizons. Everyone Can Code stands out when it come to the available opportunities presented to the young generation in Chicago to sharpen their minds and learn the language of the future. There has also been a growing need among different young people to acquire the skill sets required when it comes competing and winning in the 21st century.
Apple has expressed its plan to introduce its Swift Curriculum around the globe.
