Donald Trump Reveals Claims That Apple Will Build Three Major Production Facilities In The U.S

President Donald Trump has announced that Apple CEO promised him that the tech giant has plans to build three major plants in the US.
Trump made the claim during a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal.During the interview, he suggested that Apple is planning to give in to the Trump Administration’s push to encourage creation of more manufacturing jobs. The U.S president stated that Apple CEO Tim Cook agreed to the idea and even promised to set up three new facilities on its home turf. Unfortunately, the company has remained silent regarding the matter and no statements confirming the president’s claim have been made.
“I spoke to [Mr. Cook], he’s promised me three big plants — big, big, big,”stated Trump according to the Wall Street Journal.
Trump’s statement has aroused a lot of speculation
There has been a lot of speculation regarding Trump’s claim that Apple will build three large plants in the U.S. It is very unlikely that the president would make such a claim without some truth to it. However, there are a lot of analysts that believe that the claim might not be true and that it should be taken with a grain of salt. Their first argument is that Apple has not confirmed the claim.
Three major plants are a big deal for the company as well as its investors and would be a big incentive for the company to confirm the statement. Another reason why analysts are disputing the claim is because the company assembles most of its products abroad especially in countries such as China. This is because of incentives such cheap labor and the availability of components. The case is usually different in the U.S. operations would be quite expensive because components have to be imported and the company will also have to deal with strict manufacturing standards which would lead to inflated expenses.
Trump also stated that he told Mr. Cook that the Trump administration would not be considered an economic success unless Apple starts building its plants on U.S soil. Hopefully, Apple will soon confirm whether the president’s claim is true.
